Job SummaryThe Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering a company's employee benefit and compensation programs and to be a resource to all employees in need of assistance in navigating those benefits.
Responsibilities PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs.
Facilitate annual Open Enrollment as well as Open Enrollment for new hires.
Ensure benefits deductions are updated properly in payroll
Assist Payroll in ensuring all time cards are approved in a timely manner
Maintain a positive relationship with benefits vendors and third parties.
Ensure employees are added and terminated from their respective benefits in a timely manner
Reconcile benefits invoices with payroll deductions
Other duties as needed
Required Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
2+ years of Benefits Administration experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Specific Technical Skills Preferred :
Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience in Paychex, Paylocity, and/or Empeon
